LECTURES

Week 6: Look Development
Pre-production (script, storyboard, animatics), asset development (3D modeling the characters, props, environment), production (the animation, camerawork), post production are all the steps of the animation development process. Look development refers to the material, texture, camera and lighting / rendering (cycle/Eevee). The decision on which render engine to use should be made at the beginning of the process as it determines how the material will look.
Rendering is the process of adding shadow, illumination, highlight, and indirect lighting to the raw output of a 3D model. Real time / GPU based rendering // Non-Real time / CPU based. Blender rendering can be done using an internal engine (workbench, eevee, cycle) and external engine (VRAY, pixar renderman, red shift, octane).
Eevee - built for speed and decent quality.

Week 7: UV Wrap and Texturing
Polygon components include: vertex, edge, face, normal and UV (like vertex but only visible in UV editor). UV editor only exists on x and y plane, unlike 3D viewport. This is called unwrapping, like how a paper box is made. Ensure the size of the image before doing texturing.
